Title: Getting LC:MP Running
Post by: Pottus on November 02, 2014, 12:07:34 am
Hey guys I'm new to this forum but a few years ago I used to play LC:MP a lot with some friends before getting into SA:MP. Anyways we used to do a lot of stunting and really wanted to get into a LC:MP server going again. So after looking into it I am unclear on a few things since this seems to be pretty dead around here and I was hoping someone with experience could answer a few questions.

1.) Setting up client - I looked into this and got it running but I'm not sure if my configuration is correct with versions etc.
2.) Setting up a server - I am not really clear on how to actually run a LC:MP based server.

Any help would be appreciated a lot of the material on the forums here seems old and outdated with broken links so I am really hoping an expert here knows how to solve all these problems!

Thank-you for your time.

LC isn't supported anymore by VC:MP. It's now used as a separate multiplayer client called LU.
Here's more info: http://liberty-unleashed.co.uk

Okay well I'm not sure this is what I was looking for to be honest because LC:MP was the the GTA III map on the Vice City engine LU appears only to be for GTA III unless I'm missing something here.

VC:MP 0.4 supports custom objects, so you can try to port III's map to VC:MP. :D :D
It sounds like an insane idea, but it is actually possible.
You can fit in the limits of VC:MP by adding only the streets and buildings from III, then adding objects from original Vice City. Like palms, traffic lights, ramps, etc. ;)
(maybe you can attach objects to another objects in some Model Editor, so you will be able to use more custom objects)

It will be hard, but the result will put a big and satisifed smile on your face. :)

PS: Use http://forum.vc-mp.org next time, it's the newer forum, just about VC:MP 0.4 and newer versions.
