General Discussion / Re: VC:MP 0.1c
« on: August 30, 2014, 01:31:15 am »
I mean the server files of the default vcmp 0.1c server

Honestly, i don't think, you can find it anywhere, anytime soon, so, if you really need it, you'll have to compile it yourself, from the sources. Available old server versions as binaries, are only 0.1a, 0.1b and 0.1d (but none of them for Win).

General Discussion / Re: Which is good script for vcmp server?...
« on: August 14, 2014, 07:50:53 pm »
Hi Special,

Well, let me try to explain them as short, as possible:

  • PAWN: Like the others above already mentioned, it is a scripting language, which allows you to create your own gamemode for games, like VC:MP, or SA-MP. Unfortunatelly, it won't be supported in the upcoming release of VC:MP (0.4) at all (which btw. i myself highly disagree for several reasons, but this is another story), so basically it doesn't worth to learn, if you plan to script only and specifically for VC:MP. Related materials are available below:

  • Pawno: First and foremost, you'd know, that PAWN scripts cannot be used in their "raw", human readable format (.pwn files), so they have to be compiled to binary format (.amx), which can be done with a compiler (pawncc.exe in this case). This way, Pawno is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment), basically, a GUI (Graphical User Interface) for the compiler and an editor in one. In order to get it, just follow the instructions, described in my earlier post.
  • GUPS: The name is an acronym and covers the following: General Use Pawn Scripts. It's a script, written in Pawn language by Tamas, however, the original version (GUS) - for mIRC based servers - was released by Tommis.
  • Squirrel: It's also a scripting language, just like Pawn, but it's a completely different one of course, with different philosophy, structure, syntax, etc.. Another significant difference is, that these scripts can be precompiled (.cnut files), but it isn't necessary at all (.nut files). Anyways, Squirrel compiler isn't available as a binary, but you have to compile it yourself from sources. Related materials:

That's all for now :) , but please, let me know, if you need any further help.

Kind regards,

Dear Mitchel,

Welcome back in VC:MP. The file, you request for, is in fact almost unavailable now, but fortunatelly, i still have every single version of it in my personal archives. The latest one is from 29. december 2009. , which was released by bakasan. I uploaded it here.
Hope, this is the one, you're looking for.

Kind regards,

Hi there Some_one,

Probably, something is wrong with your include (.inc) files, so i suggest to do the followings, described in the first post below:

Hi Quattro,

Well, i assume you already own a legal copy of GTA:VC and you're either just simply lazy to install it from those disks, or maybe you wanted to prevent further scratches on them and that's why you rather downloaded it, isn't it?  ;D If so, just have a look on the following topic:

Just download the SA-MP server package and use Pawno found in it. In regards of the include, download VC:MP server package too and copy a_vcmp.inc into Pawno's include folder. (Also, you can delete a_samp.inc and other SA-MP related files, if you want.)

Vice City / Re: gta-vc.exe
« on: August 02, 2014, 12:02:41 pm »
Thank you very much. Actually, i myself have come to the conclusion, that this is the only working patch, cause the others still require at least the disk image mounted. But on the other hand... i checked the file with VirusTotal, which gave not very reassuring results.
SHA1 value of this file is: 41cfa0d33fdc662bdc03e612b792a63887f1027f

Well, are you guys using this, exactly same executable and is it completely safe? To be honest, i'm a little bit afraid, that VT matches aren't simply false positives, especially, because that Trojan.Win32.A.Zbot.3088896 is a pretty ugly threat... Perhaps, i'm a bit too paranoid, but still...
What are your opinions, regarding of this dilemma? Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards,

Vice City / gta-vc.exe

Hi guys,

I need a little help, cause i reinstalled the game and i'd like to play it, without any disks. Obviously, i have to use a no-cd patch in this case, but i'm not sure, which one to choose.
Therefore, could you please post the SHA1 checksum of yours?
Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Vice City / Re: Need Some Help Of Pawno

Hi there Lala,

It's always the hardest at anything to start and maybe my suggestion isn't fully for learning VC:MP's functions, callbacks, etc., but you still can get an idea, how to script for it, if you carefully read some - very nice and useful - tutorials about the PAWN language and/or scripting on SA-MP forum's Tutorial section. Good luck!

Kind regards,

Actually, these days it counts as a deprecated version of VC:MP, but since it's 0.3z-R2 too (while PAWN version is bugged/insufficient and SQuirrel version isn't officially supported at this point), a good old mIRC server, still could be a viable solution for this task.

Dear Susano,

First of all, welcome in this community!
Second, unfortunatelly - as far as i know -, the current version of VC:MP (0.3z-R2) doesn't support any Steam versions of Vice City at all. Cause of this, your best bet would be to get the suggested version (1.0 US) of gta-vc.exe, which should work flawlessly for you too.

Kind regards,
T800
