try redownloading the browser/client

I doubt this should help.

About last screen. How long are you waiting to see the "XXX connected"?

IMO everything should work. :/

Do you have a software firewall or hardware firewall?

to me it happens in all the servers :/

Better try re-installing vice city, you would have modded something.

thijn

Maybe you're using something like a bad wireless access point, or having old drivers.

or having old drivers.

hm will it work if i install new drivers,i dont think drivers have something to do with lost connection  :/ (i play samp and cod4 without any problems,no timeouts or crashes..)

Or simpler: VCMP.exe don't likes you :p.

You said that before it worked for you? Were you playing R1 or R2?

i played before all servers have moved to r2, and i remember when i played (month/two ago) i just connected and my ping was around 250 on lw (70 is now) and i would disconnect /timeout soon , now i cant even join the game

Yeah I had that problem too. I followed Thijn's tutorial and it did work.

EDIT: Found it: http://vu.vrocker-hosting.eu/index.php?topic=587.15

Here's Thijns tutorial:

QuoteGo to your GTAVC Folder, and go to the folder mss
in there you make 2 folders, 0.3z & RC2

Place the vc-mp.flt file (which is in the mss folder from gtavc) into the 0.3z folder
Then copy the vc-mp.flt file from the mss folder in your RC2 installation dir, and place it into the RC2 folder.

When you want to play 0.3z, copy the vc-mp.flt from the 0.3z folder (in your gtavc dir) into the mss folder from gtavc

When you want to play RC2, copy the vc-mp.flt from the RC2 folder (in your gtavc dir) into the mss folder from gtavc.

Peace of cake ;D
