Support / Re: OMFG High PING !!!!
December 08, 2009, 07:26:06 PM
Ummm download speed and upload speed are only a small factor in pings really.

Thats PLENTY of bandwitch to ping a couple of servers. the ping packet for each server is only 11 bytes, so for 24 servers thats 264 bytes. Not even 1KB downloaded.

Pings can be affected by distance, line quality and other things. Also depends if your upload is being hammered while pinging the servers.

I would go to speedtest.net and run a test there and see if it matches what your other test.

Should also install something like DUMeter to see if something is eating your upload.

Another possibility is that you've been put on a low priority traffic band. Some ISPs do this when you download too much data. Mine does this if i download more than 1.2GB between 4pm and 9pm :( it really sucks

Just got around to adding sorting to the columns so people can sort by players, ping etc.

Also fixed the player list/server list flickering. And the inability to scroll the player list. This fix should have also improved performance :)

Download in the usual place.

Also, for anybody that gets a configuration error on the x64 edition, make sure you have this installed. (The Visual C++ 2008 SP1 redist)

Something seems to have gone tits up with the master list which was causing the browser to have an exception on the internet list.

Fixed it now :)

Playing sounds in VC-MP is NOT possible. The only reason you heard the sounds is because /splay is a mirc function and plays it through mirc only.

Theres only 2 gta mods with custom sound support. One of them is MTA, the other... well, thats my project.

So yeah, you cant play sounds in vcmp, not until the devs add the functionality anyway.

mIRC/pawn Scripting / Re: Help please!
November 11, 2009, 11:37:15 PM
If you want to find the timer/timers in the script, add !. to the front of timer

for example, it may be
timer 1 1 vcmp.say 1 blah
or
/timer 1 1 vcmp.say 1 blah
or even
.timer 1 1 vcmp.say 1 blah

in which case, change it to
!.timer 1 1 vcmp.say 1 blah

and you wont get any more spam :)

Was bored today so i thought of doing a bit of work on this browser.

Fixed quite a few bugs, aswell as hooked up some more features :)

Heres the list:

  • Fixed player list not working for some servers
  • Fixed 100% cpu usage in some cases
  • Hooked up the status bar to show players, servers and slots, just like the official browser
  • Fixed some servers not displaying
  • Added a Server Properties dialog box with the option for the server password. We can now join locked servers :D
  • Hooked up the refresh server list in the menu

Let me know if theres any more issues :)

Yeh i forgot to hook the status bar up with real information. I might get around to doing it one day :P

So I think Idownloaded all the right things, I set the server name and admin password in the .ini file, I started vcmp-svr.exe, I opened vc-mp.exe and set up a server localhost:5192, the server name that i put into the ini showed up, I clicked connect, it  loaded, the game started, then immediatly after I got this error:

Exception At Address: 0x10004F65

Seems like your either missing a vital vcmp file, or the server you connected to has a dodgy config file. Try reinstalling vcmp.

ya thats what i got too im searching threw the hreads til i find the answer

Exception At Address: 0x00580F0E

Your crash occurs at loading a TXD, So make sure you have ldvcmp0.txd in your txd direcotry. If not, reinstall vcmp.

ahhhh!!!! guys , this happens to every body playing the multiplayer version of the game , even me! >:( . it's still in beta ,so this can happen.there is nothing to do excpt to wait for the 0.4 client  ::) :o

Yes of course everyone crashes, most the times its user error on game startup though. I wouldn't keep your hopes up for 0.4. Everyones been waiting for it for years and theres not been a peep from it.

Just did a small update on this.

After installing windows 7 and not being bothered about UAC, i noticed this has issues with UAC enabled. The problem is down to the favourites file being in the GTAVC dir.

The favourites file has now been relocated to C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\VCMP (Or C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\VCMP if your on XP)

I also found an issue where the nickname wasn't being saved, so i've fixed that too.

Download in the normal place.

Hmm what delete from favs bug? i can delete fine :/

Also i am planning to add a box like VCMPs original one, just cant be bothered atm :P
I need to add that box due to the bug where you cant join any passworded servers, since theres nowhere to enter the pass :P

Hmm the browser loads extremely fast for me and some other people so i dont know why it would be slow for you.

The favourites error is intentional, just tells you that theres no favourites file and it is creating one for you, it can be ignored.

Puzzled about the 3rd problem though, does that occur when you try to start the game?

Been working on this for quite some time but only recently got around to getting it to a usable state. Like most of you i kept getting annoyed at the 'unhandled exception' spam on Vista/7 when closing the server browser, so i decided to write my own.

The browser is written in Managed C++ so is compatible with any system with the .net framework. Its currently Work In Progress so some things don't work, but i will get around to sorting them out another time.

It has been designed to look similar to the official server browser so you should recognise it.

You can download the browser Here (or if your really cool, the 64bit version Here)

It requires the .net framework 3.5 so if you dont have that, grab it Here or run a windows update.

Any bugs/suggestions, post them here :)

mIRC/pawn Scripting / Re: How do i foward my ports?
August 11, 2009, 06:05:51 PM
First of all these topics are more suited for the support section seeing as they have nothing to do with mirc scripting.

Secondly, ever heard of using the Search? A lot of your questions have been asked all over the forums multiple times.

If you did use the search, you would see that you can use http://portforward.com to learn how to forward your ports.
