Sever Trouble.

Im in the process of making my server and i want to test out to see if my spawn points are ok within the game. so i close my build mode game and change the shortcuts location back so nothing is effected... then i open up VC MP and select my server from faves... it opens and loads but then it says "connecting to (my servers ip)" it never actually connects and its the same for my Rcon... it doesnt connect...
