Huh? What's wrong with my installation? The Vice city installation of mine went bad or the VC-MP client/server ? Btw , I installed the client and server of VC MP in a same directory... is that a problem?
Please , please tell me whats wrong... how do I fix this...
try installing VCMP into your gta vc folder.
If what Thijn said doesn't fix the issue, try installing it in a new folder (IE: C:\VCMP), copy and paste everything in your actual VC folder, by default C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City

that does the same thing as installing it in the default VC folder lol

When I installed it for first time it kept showing error messages and that's the way I fixed it :P

1.- I haven't checked the wiki, never.
2.- I had no idea about it.
3.- I don't care, I'm just happy because Power-Inside recieved the help he requested.

Excuse me, sir :)
Well from the looks of it most new players cant locate their vice city installation when installing vcmp, either that or they just speed trough the installation clicking next next next ok etc, A quick install.exe patch for the correct default installation directory would stop most of these posts and people asking for help on IRC

So, It still didn't work thats why me and Aaron said the location was wrong.
The wiki says a lot of things that doesn't solve his problem, But also what does. We where just pointing at it.
Wiki's instruction isn't big enough to miss any of its parts, including twice mentioned need of installing in default folder. Plus, he had at least TWO problems (second being exe version).
But, anyway, making default path based on registry data would still be sweet.
Yes, I thought it was not necessary to install the VC MP in the VC directory... that was the problem... anyway thanks. now it worked fine and sweet.
Btw, making default path based on registry data would be a better idea to implement and I dont think so its so hard to do this.. why not strictly roll out this implementation in the next release of VC:MP ?
