Hello gyes. I would like, that you have written history of creation VC:MP. There can be somewhere i can find additional data on all clients? Whether i can count on the help of developers if i write creation history.

How much i remember, VC:MP began with 0.1a, 0.1b, 0.1c, 0.1d, 0.1f, 0.2a, 0.3a, 0.3b, 0.3x, 0.3z. Correctly? :)

Where it is possible to look dates of release of each version?

let me see if i can help some...

i cant remember exactly, but i think 0.1d was released by the original team (kyeman, spookie, jax, mikechml, cam, and some others) sometime around September 2005.  someone should probably post more accurate info about 0.1a, 0.1b, 0.1c, and 0.1d.

i seem to recall, at some point, the team decided to release the 0.1c source and stop developing VC:MP, then decided to proceed with development and released 0.1d.  around the time SA for the PC was released, kyeman decided to let Falcon lead the new VC:MP dev team.  Falcon recruited me to help him out soon afterward.

0.2a was released on Fri Sep 22, 2006.  it was the first release that the new dev team(Falcon and bakasan) made, after working with the 0.1d source for about 6 months i guess.

0.3 was released on Mon Jan 01, 2007.  the dev team added Jeranamo before that release.

0.3x was released Wed Feb 14, 2007.  it had a bunch of upgrades from 0.3, and provided support for lcmp.

0.3z was released Fri Dec 14, 2007.  it is the latest released version at the moment.  it has more scripting features and some other things not available in 0.3x.


0.4 has been in development since early 2007 and will be having its first public beta sometime soon.  maxorator is now on the dev team as well as Y_Less.

VC:MP Development continues...  The VC:MP developers and betateam are committed to making VC:MP the best it can be.  Hopefully this helps a little.

Whether and there is somewhere a list of changes of each version VC:MP?

For example in MTA each release comprised txt a file in which all changes have been specified.

Can be it is necessary to make archive of old versions. For example, as in MTA http://www.mtasa.com/dl-archive.html

VC:MP 0.1a (Date release)

As it seems to me, it needs to be made first of all to admirers online GTA and it is final to fans VC:MP. I remember, when you only were born, has written a small sketch.

P.S. It would be quite good to receive particulars at former developers VC:MP but how with them to communicate?

Nothing new since 2007/08 :/... Looks like previous version were published regularly [only look at bakas post... All 0.3 were given to download in 2007 :P]

Well would love somebody to come help, most of the vc-mp have alot of other things going on atm (for over a year now) so basicly has stopped.

Would like to hear what people are expecting 0.4 to be :)

What we expect from 0.4/0.3z r2? All the stuff from VC single-player :P.

Yeah, vcmp still lives, but this can be changed, if no new version of vcmp will be published. Many players left vcmp [even the good players! :P], saying "we will come back when vcmp 0.4 comes". Today, more and more ppl are leaving, cause playing one game, that
* crash sometimes
* dont have the most important features from singleplayers, like a simple aiming from sniper or m4
* no REAL scripting language [mirc? blah]
* fighting with stubby too long is boring
* etc.
... is rly booooring. If there will be no new version at the end of this year, i will leave vcmp probably too :(.

In this moment vcmp is playing 31 ppl on 31 servers [1 player per server]. On one samp server is playing probably more then on all vcmp servers >>>.

Falcon, nice to hear from a dev! I thought you were all dead or something.

Anyway yeah, VCMP still lives, and I dunno if I agree with all of what NC said, because whilst old players are leaving, new players are constantly joining.

What I'd personally like to see in 0.4 are features to encourage old players to stay.

The main 2 would be:

Better stability
Better Sync

Thats just my opinion, and as NC said, a lot of old players said they'd come back for 0.4

Well, I think i can help. And nice to see you again buddy! was a long and long time that i don't see you talking here. All i wanna say it's... Welcome back!

And ermm, talking about VCMP:
People are completely fart of this version. We were waiting 0.4 like 2007 bro! We've loosed a lot of players, probably when 0.4 release's people will come back and we'll have the VCMP that we like. :P

If you want help in 0.4, maybe i can help in somethings. o/

And ermm one thing that i don't will forget to say it's... well if sometime we can meet our self's. I'll be forever online. o/

Still, in my opinion he is not the one to blame, VC-MP is a free mod and he isnt getting paid for developing it. Also Baka has a big house to pay for and as mentioned above he's working as a DJ travelling around the world.
Have you thought recruiting new scripters to the dev team?

As i said in the VCMP 0.4 suggestion: add a small web-spam-banner like google Ads in some place, team will get $5/per year and maybe this will motivate the team :D.

Anyway, if your looking for some betatesters, i can be one v_v. I have tested probably all vcmp beta version for public [0.3z r2] and made 3 promo-movies :P.

It wasn't bakasan decision to hold back the release it was a TEAM decision.

At the end of the day we don't won't to release something that wasn't in our opinion stable enough.

But we may have something to keep you guys interested released sooner rather then later :)

Yeah, a year ago was the VCMP 0.4 preview uploaded on youtube. But then i heard more about 0.3z r2 [since December '08 to March '09-last betatest for public afaik].

I think a good idea, would be doing smthing like a "developers blog". There are many shit blog scripts for free. Only installing on a web page and posting sometimes news & pictures from teh new vcmp ;).

Developing VC:MP is kind of complicated since we're all in a different timezone and practically can almost never chat in realtime. Falcon and bakasan don't have much free time because of work and that makes it even more difficult to communicate.

I've said it before, and i say it again: Have you thought of recruiting new developer(s) to strengthen up your dev team? There are many professional coders out there idling on those channels and I'm sure they would be more than happy to be a part of your team.

Ok, maybe "coming out regularly" wasnt good for SAMP...

BUT
SAMP is a real multiplayer: many features, many more players, a big forum with thousands of posts [411167 Posts in 38447 Topics by 73257 Members] and a real scripting language. Ah forgot about: its the MOST popular MP for SA! And now look:

TBH, The SA:MP Team has like 5 Times more developers in the crew then VC:MP does.
Because, VC:MP isn't popular as it used to be. If you got my point. :-[

Well, when 0.4 or 0.3z be released, I'm pretty sure that it'll be more popular again. And sometimes it release and anyone is informated.

People are sick of waiting. That's why we are losing players, but hope 0.3z beta or 0.4, it's coming soon, but we can't even know when it'll be released, **always confused**. Guess they're testing the new VCMP, to soon they put it to work, and then everyone can play.

Maikel, i heard [dont know if its true], but VCMP sync is better than this from SAMP 0.2 ;o.

Anyway, the SAMP team is going to release a new version [www.sa-mp.com]. Look:

Well Don did test somethings in a vcmp version but it wasn't  :-X

Would be nice to have time for a blog ... any volunteers to run it ????

VC-MP has 3 devs and atm all working (in real life jobs etc) only get like 2-3 hrs per week to work on vc-mp if we are lucky so you guys will just have to be a little more patient with us.
If anybody thinks they can help or have skills in right area's to help please contact me.

Hmm 3 is too little... Why not asking some SAMP Team guys to help? I heard one time, Y-Less from SAMP wanted to help VCMP, so why not ask them now? They released already SAMP 0.3a and probably can help VCMP :).

Ah, i think we are patient but we want also, that devs say truly informations about VCMP and not "soon" for few years...

And about new VCMP versions: I dont understand one simple thing. In R2 patch #2 are some bugs like colored messages or sniper warp, that are fixed already in a new patch [devs post on forum]. So why dont release a small patch for this bugs? Devs want add 100 new functions and let us wait again for a long time ;x?

Just to remind afaik in the new VCMP version are patched at least 2 bugs: one with the sniper warp and the other with colored messages. Both are annoying. Players want to fix some known bugs now, dont wait another year or more to patch a few bugs and... add a few more :<. c'mon, just look at M$ for example :p. They do also patches for 1 thing ^.

I am a scripter and if i find a bug, i try to fix it and upload as far as i can. I dont start adding at the same moment new stuff, because fixing maybe an admin command is more important then adding new stuff!

There must be some things with higher and lower priority. And fixing annoying bugs should be the first important thing to do. Now the last time i have the "gta-vc minimized bug" that i posted on the Support. Do you think someone wants to play a game, that wont really starts?

I bet 90% of the VCMP community thinks that same.

After r2 was released, the devs were active on this forum and that was a big +. I thought that now we are going to become a 0.4 or r3 really soon. But now its the same like on "R1 times". Devs are not longer writing on forums, r2 has more and more bugs, and the last patch was more then 2 months ago :x.
