I'd say that's true for any channel.

I would also say that posting any channel other than #vc-mp should be considered advertising, as you call it.

dave5 was looking for a channel where a large number of the vc-mp population is on - I simply gave him a channel.

Don't worry, #ulk has more both active and inactive people on it than #littlewhitey.vc-mp.
