In last week's PACV, we mentioned that our new game mode, "Vice City Racing v3" is on its way.
This new game mode will definitely be more efficient and will try to bring back some elements from VCR v1 such as personal bests.
There is also a possibility that the next VCR release will support lap races.

With the development going on, we would like to hear from all of you and take in your opinions for VCR v3.

  • What would you like to see in VCR v3?
  • What would make you want to join VCR v3 when the server is empty?
  • What would make you choose MDR over any other server?
also... most importantly, what in the new MDR, would make you call your friends over?

Please feel free to let your imaginations run wild and surreal!
Anything out of the norm is fine as long as the idea is feasible and possible!

So, as many of you know, Project Apollo is an ever expanding community, but we can't help but feel that the forums and servers just aren't active enough. Our discussion channel (#Miami-Dade) is very active as we all know, but I think if we make the forums more active it could help with those who find the forum and register. We seem to have a lot of inactive members. Anyway, getting to the point!

The Project Apollo Community Voice is a chance for the members of Project Apollo to show us what they think on the current subject at hand, which will change from week to week. Letting us know what you want may just help improve Project Apollo and it's community. Since this is the first week, there are two topics up for discussion, these are as follows.

  • Liberty/Vice Unleashed Game modes

As Project Apollo will be expanding towards the Unleashed mod when it is released to the public, the first that we're going to ask you lot is, what sort of game mode would you like to see us create? Remember our aim is to be new, exciting and original, so it has to be something that no one has thought of before!

  • Keeping our current servers interesting and increase playability!

As Project Apollo has two official VC:MP servers and a newly aquired SA:MP server, we want to know what we can do to help improve the playability of the servers and get more people interested? At the minute we have our regular players, but we need to make the servers more appealing to the new guys as well so they can become part of our community. So basically, what should we do? Probably not so easy in SA:MP, but VC:MP would be easier since there is a smaller amount of servers. Would you also like to see stats pages/player profiles for more servers?

Next Saturday we will be asking you more questions about what you want, for now discuss the current questions. We look forward to hearing what you have to say!

Racing server / Racing Information
July 05, 2010, 10:40:37 PM
As the name of the server suggests, this is a racing server.
The races are run on an automatic system to make a continuous flow of races for the players.

Each race has a record that players can try and beat as well as four other times on the leader board to try and beat. These can be viewed with /c top5 whenever a race has been loaded.

Once the race starts you need to follow the camera pickups - these mark the route and are classed as checkpoints/gates, you must go through these to continue with the race, if you miss one you need to type /c lastcp to go back to the one you last passed. When passing through the checkpoints you will receive information on the checkpoint number, your position, race time and if your not leading, how far behind the player in front you are and how far behind the leader you are.

Once you finish the race you are given the option to vote for what race you want to see next, you will be given 3 track names and a restart race option (this is a fourth track name if a restart has already taken place). To vote for the next race simply type /c vote raceid - where race id is the number in brackets next to the race name. (If no votes are made a random race will be chosen).

You can also build races.
