I run VC:MP in compatibility mode for Windows ME (Prevents Popup Errors), but when I run it, it works fine. I join a server and Vice City crashes. I run Vice City without MP, and it works fine. Help me? I an running Windows Vista. ???

Mattz

Nah, the errors are from vc-mp everbody gets it. 0.4 version might be better.

And where might that be?

None of the other versions worked. Anything else I can try?

I tried reinstalling and it works fine now. Sorta. Vice City just launches into Single-Player though.

Mattz

Locate your Vice City folder.

1st:Open your vc-mp
2nd:Goto Tools
3rd:Goto Settings
4th:Vice City Installation Location
5th:Browse for the folder
6th:Press Ok
7th:Save
8th:Try to join a server

"C:\Program Files\VCMP" is the path to my fresh copy of Vice City. And I'm 100% sure it's correct.

Mattz

Mines is:

C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA Vice City

Make sure your "VCMP" Folder has the Vice City files.

I can run single-player mode through VCMP quite fine.

is vc-mp.flt in your Vice City\mss directory? if not thats probably why its running singleplayer if it is there then i dont know what to suggest apart from checking you dont have any hooks installed like a d3d8.dll in your main directory.

Mattz: if he is able to play VC singleplayer through his vcmp browser it means he has located it properly but its not running the vcmp params.

Works, but it crashes when I exit Vice City now.

Dark Dragon DX

Now Vice City is crashing at random.

Dark Dragon DX

Most likely, this isn't a problem caused by VCMP, but my radio stations don't work in Vice City single-player or in VCMP.
