Title: Steam
Post by: Infamous on August 04, 2011, 08:44:38 pm
Hi there, this has proberly been mentioned many times but I am struggling to find a solid answer.

I have been a SA-MP player for years now and would like to come back to VC-MP although I can't remeber if the steam version will work with this mod.

If anyone can give me a clear answer or an alternative way of purchasing the game without getting it from a store then it would be greatly appreciated.

It must work with this, but only if the version is 1.0 not 1.1

The steam executable does not work with VC:MP since its not a normal 1.0 or 1.1 exe.

You could use it with a different exe though. i use a nocd on my steam copy and it works fine :)

"Steam's VC" is 2.0, just to let you know. Read at gtaf.

Swapping out the .exe itself should work just fine. Thanks to a user I spoke with on MTA forums, apparently aside from extra files Steam adds, there is nothing modified in the Steam version compared to any other besides the gta-vc.exe file.
