Title: script lag
Post by: ULK.HeAD on October 15, 2008, 10:55:41 pm
the script keeps on lagging.... I know other players know what I'm talking about. normally I don't mind the lack of weapons and goto, but playing with cheaters is annoying. is there something that can be done about this?  :-\

well you obviously don't play XE american as much as I do   :-\ ???

it hasn't happened yet today, but almost every day this week I have seen the script take 2-10 minutes to respond to commands. it usually lasts for an hour or two.

so there's nothing we can do about this? I've been to other servers and yes script lag is normal, but only for a few seconds, not a 5-10 minute wait for your commands to go through like we are experiencing on XE.

edit: this is ridiculous, I just left game not too long ago, and saw the IRC echo run my !admin command 24 minutes after I left the game.

yeah well, I haven't had this happen to me on any other servers, so I made this topic to see if we can get this fixed or improved at all. every time this happens, I watch the player count drop from about 15-20 players to less than 6. maybe you guys like easy fights with the 5 first-time players that choose to stick around, and why you are fine with it, I don't know, but personally I would like to play with the more experienced players that immediately leave XE when this problem occurs.

Well since i play in Xe server a lot i pretty much know what Head is talking about....the script goes down a lot and it just comes back on and sometimes you even type a cmd and then it works 5 min later...The cause of that is most of times players spamming cmds and the 2nd thing which i highly doubt is that the host gets laggy so script lags, however if you guys know when script goes off and comes back on .. i think tommis is working on script at that time so he turns it off and on etc.. but for the past couple of days it happens a lot so idk whats the 2nd problem that happens why it keeps connecting and disconnecting  :'(

Hello,

There has been patches done with the script, and more are still to come. I will be looking deeper into this problem, please let me know if it happens again.

Regards,
Tommis
