I see what you mean.. But if i get a (1.0 non steam) gta-vc.exe would it work if i replace it with the original?

Hello guys,

Iam using a Steam edition vice city game, well i've done a succesful installation of vc:mp, the problem is when i launch it and connect to a server it says:

"Incorrect gta-vc.exe version detected.
 You must use GTA:VC 1.0 to play VC:MP"

I really dont know what is this , i hope you can help me  :-\
