You people are pretty retarded.

You cannot host a game server on a web host.

You can try but I don't think you'll get very far!

Just as a matter of interest, is scripting VC:MP servers in C++ a better approach nowadays? Since stormeus and I are planning to script a C++ server too.

Depends what you prefer and find easier really.

Great that you said that, I forgot that all the time. What do you mean it's coming in C++? MDR will use his own server.exe? On one screenie, that some of you posted at MD forums, I read that v4 will feature virtual worlds. Is this true? And what else will come along with v4, because I don't see any changelog.

It won't be using it's own server but a plugin system that has been developed for the server. We will also have virtual worlds yes! Changelog will be made available in the days leading up to going public, but a few new things would be boat races (which have been asked for since v1) and lap races which last up to 8 laps now rather than 3. There are a few other features which are being developed but these are secret until the release.

Haha orly? I think it's obvious what to do, when joining a race server.

You would be very surprised, a lot of people can't seem to follow some pickups.

Meh, MDR v1 with mirc scripts was definitely the best one, it had no advanced functions like time difference between us and the opponents. It was a simple race with many players. I remember when there were only a few days to end of the school year, I was playing till midnight (and got to stand up at 6 am), because it was really interesting and it was also the first racing server.

But now that's all gone :/.

MDR was teh shitz back then, now that we've got v4 coming along in C++ it's allowed us to do a shittone tonne more than what mIRC ever gave us. It would be nice if MDR went back to the glory days of v1 but I really don't think thats going to happen, half the people that play it these days don't have a clue wtf to do.

We're mainly just testing to make sure theres no silly bugs, got a few server crashes we need to iron out as well which are a bit of a bitch to figure out. It could be public next week or next year, right now we don't know.

Wow.. you people are getting worse and worse with your scripts, they are so bad. Ditch PAWN and move onto something that actually works properly and isn't a steaming pile of shit.

Miami-Dade: Starfish Island Conquest

Project Apollo has launched a new Miami Dade server for everyone to enjoy, it's the first server of it's kind with a unique game mode and plenty of opportunities for competitive play on the server.

Miami-Dade: Starfish Island Conquest (MDC) is a gamemode which is situated on Starfish Island, there are two teams and two control points in the middle of the island. Each team has to work together to try and capture and hold each control point for as long as possible, the more control points you own the more likely you are to win.

For a team to win they must deplete the opposite teams respawn tickets down to 0, this can be acheived via killing the enemy players and holding capture points. You will not be able to see your enemies on the radar so it is important that you work well as a team to complete your objective.

We have also added an EXP (Experience Point) system to the gamemode, this will reward players with armour, ammo and more weapons for regular play, there are various different ways to earn EXP and these are outlined in the MDC board.

Project Apollo hopes that you can all benefit from this new server and if you are interested in using this server to host an event or a tournament then let us know!

So, what are you waiting for, hop on over to project-apollo.co.uk:5192 (85.17.189.153:5192) to start playing!

The Starfish Island Conquest server is a brand new server that Project Apollo will soon be running. It is a totally new gamemode which has never been seen before and has been designed with competitive and casual clan/team play in mind.

The gamemode is simple, each team starts either end of Starfish Island, there are two control points in the middle, it is your teams job to capture as many of these points as possible, the more control points you hold, the less tickets you will loose.

Each time has a limited number of respawn tickets which are lost for not holding capture points and when a player dies or gets killed. The first team that reaches 0 tickets looses. Good team work is important so playing as a clan is probably more fun than say, with randomers.

This server should be going public within the next few days and keep an eye out for a public beta tommorow (1st August)!

For more information head on over to http://project-apollo.co.uk or check out the forum at http://forum.project-apollo.co.uk

Hope to see you guys in-game over the public beta and once the server has been unveiled for general public use. :)

Going off the fact that the pawn implementation is crap, this is only possible if you use the non-official Squirrel server.
