Yeah I had that problem too. I followed Thijn's tutorial and it did work.

EDIT: Found it: http://vu.vrocker-hosting.eu/index.php?topic=587.15

Here's Thijns tutorial:

Quote
Go to your GTAVC Folder, and go to the folder mss
in there you make 2 folders, 0.3z & RC2

Place the vc-mp.flt file (which is in the mss folder from gtavc) into the 0.3z folder
Then copy the vc-mp.flt file from the mss folder in your RC2 installation dir, and place it into the RC2 folder.

When you want to play 0.3z, copy the vc-mp.flt from the 0.3z folder (in your gtavc dir) into the mss folder from gtavc

When you want to play RC2, copy the vc-mp.flt from the RC2 folder (in your gtavc dir) into the mss folder from gtavc.

Peace of cake ;D
*why torcida thinks someone makes a fool out of him?

do you have msn ?

That just says, Make sure you have the latest client.

About the timeout problem, It can't be anything then your internet. If your connection gets blocked by a firewall it doesnt even connect, or show the spawnscreen. it would hang at Connecting to...

i dont think drivers have something to do with lost connection
It can't be anything else I guess.

No the browser is r2, as you have mentioned that you can join server for a minute but then gets crashed.

I'd just like to say that try re-installing vice city (not vcmp).

No wonder your timing out, your loosing 90% of your packets. No idea how you can fix that :P.

If a server is receiving high levels of packetloss, you will timeout shortly after entering the server.

couldn't the packetloss be spoofed after the initial timeout? (the server times out then packets sent are 100% lost)

That maybe resolve the 99% of your problem.
1.Open the program
2.go to the server your want
3.right click and select:connect. When you do it DONT PRESS ANY BUTTON
4.In the RCON Password write this:1551
5.press save
6.repeat the 3 step but now press the connect button
now the connection goes faster :)
