[Question]Can VCMP0.4 support multi language in the future?
« on: August 21, 2013, 02:31:27 pm »
I try to modify vcmp-game.dll, but it can't show another language. Can it support multi language in the future?

VC:MP in the future... I'd love to see the development a few years down the line. Who knows, a very multilingual, international client may be where we are heading... in the future. : )

Is this a necessary thing? Look, the vcmp server browser will be in your language, you understand everything, fine. But then you join a server, which is likely to welcome you in english language.

Some other multiplayer clients already have people hosting in languages such as Russian and Spanish. Occasionally I have seen non-English servers on VC:MP. Usually these are just in latin script, using norm English alphabets so it's not a problem.

I know MTA:SA is/will be multi-language. But as I said translating only the vcmp browser isn't a big deal. How much time do you spend in the browser? Less than one minute before you connect to a server? Hell, even if the browser would be Chinese, there is no problem to learn which weird symbol you should click to join a server :D. And if the browser will have some icons (like r2 and previous browsers) then I don't see any need to translate anything.

Yeah, I think the basic stuff on the browser are fairly self-explanatory. :)
I suppose it would just be something to show that there's support for international communities

I am guessing most would look towards 'official' support for non-English characters and more functionality there. Which is fair enough, but perhaps when the rate of development is able to be more stable, eh? I suppose as it is everyone is busy and this would be a bit more time consuming.

I agree about non-English characters. Would be funny to see Chinese words :D.
