Project Apollo unvails brand new server for their Miami Dade family

Today, Project Apollo's Miami Dade family have announced that a brand new server will be making it's way into the VCMP world between 19th-21st October 2012. The brand new server, which will be known as Miami-Dade: Destruction (MDD) is the latest in the Miami Dade servers as it once again aims to rewrite what you thought was possible with VCMP scripting. Once again, MDD will be using Project Apollo's accounts system, Project Apollo Community which was released almost a year ago now boasts a strong 3000+ user base and serves 4 (soon to be 5) servers.

MDD is a pure and simple destruction derby gamemode which takes the usual car smashing, tyre popping, engine exploding madness and gives it a twist. Each event will last for up to five minutes as up to 16 players try and battle it out to score the most points possible across either a straight out 'Pit of death' or a 'Tamtastic oval'. This isn't about going fast, well, it is, but you actually have to hit things this time.

Some of the features that MDD holds for the players are as follows:
-   9 unique weapons such as low gravity, tyre popping and EMP pulses that will either aid you or hinder your opponents.
-   Per-player setting of certain game settings such as gravity, game speed and flying cars - this hasn't been done before in VCMP.
-   Per-player and global stats tracking, including 22 achievements via the PAC system.
-   Points which are dynamically handed out whenever you run into your opponents.
-   Survival system which rewards those who manage to keep their car in running for longer periods of time.
-   Tamming, lots and lots of tamming.

Miami Dade: Destruction will be running on the old Madness server (project-apollo.co.uk:5194) for the forseeable future as the activity level of Project Apollo starts to slowly rise again now that it's getting towards the end of the year.

Hopefully, we will get more tammers than you can shake a stick at over next weekend (19th-21st October 2012) and we look foward to seeing what crazy shenigans you manage to get up to!

To stay up to date with the release of Miami Dade: Destruction, stay glued to our forums (http://project-apollo.co.uk) over the next week!

I don't get one thing. First, you would like to ban anyone, who tries to crash into other racers on MDR, and now you are making a server where your task is to smash others?

Yes because MDR is all about clean racing and not ramming into each other, as stated in the rules, it's not exactly fun on something like MDR either, is it? Things like racing and ramming into each other should be kept completely seperate and that is what we have done here with MDD, MDD is nothing like MDR, theres no circuits or anything.

Miami Dade: Destruction is now live over at 91.237.197.34:5194 so please do come and join us! We have just applied an update to fix an issue with PAC kicking non-registered players for not logging in. This update also includes a potential fix for memory free'ing that went un-noticed during testing.
