Vc:Mp Problems.. *PLEASE* Help...

hello all im new here lovely site i must say....anyways i have some problems... when i click connect to server it works fine blah blah..but when it gets to the loading screen where it shows charcter pictures and at the bottom "rock star registered trade mark" etc etc.. it doesnt load at all...how do i get past this? i have done everything... i have the right version of game and right client downloaded everything is right just wont load... also my other questions are...
(possible future reference) can you downgrade to the correct version?...also
can the DIRECT2DRIVE version work on here?

he has...-(DSL)...DIRECT2DRIVE VERSION (not sure)

i have...-(DSL)...STORE BOUGHT VERSION (1.0)

Well, I don't think the error is in your vc:mp files. I can tell you that I had the same experience when I was using dial-up internet in China, so its probably a bad internet connection which slows down data exchange between your computer and the server.
