My VC-MP wont work

i installed all the things i need then when i open vc-mp it has no ping and it says there are no players online. i went through all the tabs. ieven tried re downlaoding everything but it still dosent work can someone help me..

Can you post the link from where you downloaded VCMP? And you can post a screenshot of VCMP browser.

i dont know how to put an image in also i got vc from my friend it was the 2010 verison then took of the moded cars with a half mod, (it didn't fully finish i guess).

I use windows vista xp as a tower and i use windows 7 professional as a my laptop i do my gaming on my tower my laptop is for school.

If VC:MP doesn't work on your copy, have you considered using a retail version instead? There is no official "2010 version" -- only the Steam version (2012, NOT compatible with VC:MP) and the retail executables from 2003. VC:MP requires a non-updated (1.0) retail copy.

Hello People,
I've got the same problem.
I cant join any of the servers..

Steps Taken :-
 - Reinstalled VCMP
 - Reinstalled Vice City
 - Reinstalled Windows

But still I cant get into the server, Rarely I could join.
This are cases of problems I have:-

- Joins and I don't get skin selection and "Lost Connection"
- Doesn't and I get only the Message( ".."); and "Lost Connection" [ Hangs in cab ]
- Joins and the players are mentioned less
- Joins and players who are dead are not spawned again
- Joins and I cant see any cars
- Doesn't Join "Connecting" "Connected" "Lost Connection"

These are the cases..

About my net:-
 BSNL - I get below 200 Pings. The plan I asked and got is 5mbps
 I install VCMP client from www.vicecitymultiplayer.com

where can i get version 1.0. to the other guy did you try getting a different copy like th other guys said.
